Safety on the Harmony V

The latest addition to the Variety Cruises fleet, the HARMONY V, is a 183 ½ foot-wide Megayacht was launched in July 2009. The HARMONY V complies with SOLAS safety regulations ISPS (International Ships Port Safety Code) ISM, (International Safety Management), while its powerful engines, generators and state of the art twin stabilizers will allow for safe and comfortable cruising.

Life on Board

The HARMONY V is a modern Megayacht with a sleek high-tech look very similar to the private yachts to be found in the famous ports of the world. Life on board will center around the Bar Lounge and Dining Room at the Main Deck and at the Sun Deck Bar where meals are served “al fresco” depending on the weather and the ship location. The classy dining room and the adjoining cosy bar lounge are surrounded by large windows providing beautiful views of the ports of call It accommodates all guests in one single seating and provides a high standard of cuisine, always with some local flavour. The Sun Deck is the ideal place to bask under the sun, read a good book or just gaze at the scenery. The swimming platform on Harmony V stern will allow for easy access to the ship and for a wide range of sea related activities. Service on board is provided by your Captain, the Cruise Coordinator and your experienced Marine and Hotel crew members. Service will be attentive or unobtrusive according to your requirements and priority is always given to the safety and comfort of passengers. Organised excursions are available for most ports of call and can be pre-booked or reserved 24 hours in advance.

The Cabins on Harmony V

The 26 cabins of the HARMONY V are located on the Main deck (9 cabins) and on the Upper Deck (16 cabins). All cabins are premium and contemporary, decorated with soft colour furnishings. Cabins are comfortable and average size is 135 sq feet. The 16 cabins on the Upper Deck consist of 2 fixed double bedded cabins and of 14 cabins with flexible bedding system, which can be set to offer either two twin beds or a double bed. The 9 cabins at the Main Deck consist of 5 double bedded cabins and of 4 twin bedded cabins (no flexible bedding arrangement). All cabins offer large windows and en suite bathrooms with shower and elegant Corian finishing on walls and floors. The cabins are equipped with flat screen TV sets, DVD players, music channels, mini fridges, hairdryers, individually controlled A/C and safe deposit boxes.

Note: Variety Cruises may substitute for some of the sailings the Harmony V with the sister ship Harmony G.

2009/10 RED SEA WONDERS- Cruise Itinerary

Day 1: Hurghada (Embarkation)

Embark in the afternoon and meet your crew and fellow passengers during your welcome drink. Tonight you will have the opportunity to taste Arabian delicacies and learn belly dancing and other local dances. You will love our Arabian Night Experience!!!

Day 2: Saturday Sharm el Sheikh

Today we reach Sharm El Sheikh, the jet set resort of the Red Sea. After breakfast you can chose from two great optional excursions: The Sinai Mountains and the St. Catherine’s monastery, one of the wonders of the Sinai, or a Land and Sea Safari by four wheel drive with great snorkeling and a Camel Ride along the beach. After dinner do not miss the opportunity to explore Sharm El Sheikh and enjoy its bustling Night Life.

Day 3: Sunday Ras Mohamed (optional)- Sharm el Sheikh

During the day enjoy the unique natural preserved park of Ras Mohamed and optional diving or snorkelling excursion. In the afternoon you can relax and wander around the town of Sharm el Sheikh or join a “Sunset in the Dessert” optional excursion by four wheel drive. Late in the afternoon, we sail for the city of Aqaba in Jordan.

Day 4: Monday Aqaba

In the morning we arrive in Aqaba. Relax and wander around the city of Aqaba, enjoy the sea at one of one of the many Aqaba beaches or join in, our optional excursions: An Eilat city tour plus snorkeling and/ or diving or an Aqaba city tour and a Wadi Rum excursion giving you the possibility to explore the mystique of this famous mountainous desert and Bedouin life.

Day 5: Tuesday Aqaba

Today you will not miss an optional excursion to the famed Greco-Roman city of Petra, entirely carved into the rock. After dinner you will have free time for an evening walk in the colorful city of Aqaba.

Day 6: Wednesday Taba

Leave in the morning for Taba and join an optional excursion to the imposing Pharaoh’s island. Walk through the ruins of the castle and then enjoy a swim in the crystal blue waters around the island. Tonight join us for our Fishermen’ Night and taste the best of Red Sea fish-food.

Day 7: Thursday Safaga

Arrive in Safaga and join the optional tour to Luxor one of the highlights of your cruise. You will visit the Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings and Queens and many more amazing sites. For a more relaxing day, you can discover the beauty of the Red Sea and sunken ships with a Glass bottom Red Sea experience.

Day 8: Friday Hurghada

Early departure to Hurghada. Disembarkation after breakfast.

2/ Conditions and restrictions

PROOFREADING Tour Operators featuring our Cruises in their Catalogue or Internet site by itinerary, vessel’s description and images, will send VARIETY CRUISES a draft for error-checking of the contents prior publication as well as two brochure copies when printed. In order to secure corect information given to our clients and keep our high customer satisfaction levels. Variety Cruises will not bare any responsibility for inaccurate information or misrepresentation of our vessels or cruise itineraries without having accepted a draft prior to the brochure going to print.

PAYMENT 25% deposit is required upon confirmation. Balance of payment is due no less than 60 days prior to day of embarkation.

CHILD REDUCTION Children between the ages of 7-10 sharing a cabin with two paying adults receive a 50% discount. Children between the ages of 10-16 sharing a cabin with two paying adults receive a 35% discount. Port taxes are not discounted.

CANCELLATIONS 25% of the cruise for any written cancellation received between 60 to 31 days prior to sailing; 50% up to 16 days prior to sailing; full cruise fare for written cancellations received less than the 16th day prior to sailing or for “no shows” even if cancellation is due to unforeseen circumstances beyond passenger’s control. Cancellations must be confirmed by VARIETY CRUISES in writing in all cases.

AMENDMENTS There may be a charge for amendments of cruise date or decreasing pax number received less than 60 days prior to sailing. Amendments must be confirmed by VARIETY CRUISES in writing.

NOT INCLUDED IN CRUISE FARE Such personal expenses as drinks (other than included in the rate), laundry and gratuities, (gratuities are optional but as a rule, satisfied clients are expected to give to the captain, at the end of the cruise approximately 7% of the cruise fare for distribution among crew members) medical expenses, port taxes, shore excursions (shore excursions are proposed and arranged on board by the tour leaders) expenditures incurred ashore, and anything not mentioned in cruise program.

About us — the story behind Travelanthropy

Just about everyone these days is looking for ways to cut unnecessary spending. At the same time, many people are devoting more time to their friends, family, and communities.

The economic crisis has brought people together. But this new spirit of togetherness hasn’t always benefited charities. While volunteerism is up in many communities, contributions are down for most non-profits. As a result, many have had to cut staff, reduce services, and seek new sources of income.

Travel agencies and tour companies have been impacted by the economic crisis as well. Even travel companies that cater to the needs of luxury travelers have been unable to keep all available tour seats and accommodations full.

At Travelanthropy we saw an opportunity. As travel professionals with many decades of experience, we had the idea of soliciting discounts from travel providers and passing the savings along to our customers and to charity. We asked around. The response was a resounding, enthusiastic “yes!” Then we started working on creative ways to enhance existing itineraries with enjoyable, one-of-a-kind activities sponsored by philanthropists and community organizations around the globe.
